MoreWhat game would you like to see on the Switch 2?
This morning. after months of speculation, Nintendo finally took the wraps off the Switch 2, giving gamers their first official look not only at the new hardware, but also a forthcoming Mario Kart title, which is rumored to be launching alongside the new console later this year. While details around the new Mario Kart title have not been shared, rumors are swirling about new titles that could appear on the Switch 2, including Metaphor Re:Fantazio, an untitled Halo game featuring Master Chief, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, and even the upcoming GTA VI. With that in mind we'd love to know, what games would you love to see on Nintendo's newest console? Sound off below!
Nintendo would really, really like you to stop using this "unauthorized" service
After more than a decade, in 2024, Nintendo officially shut down the online servers for its legacy Wii U console. Though this was a sad day for those still clinging to Nintendo's failed Wii sucessor, retro gaming enthusiasts were quick to find a way to work around the server shutdown and keep the lights on for several popular online-enabled Wii U titles, including the original Mario Kart 7, with a popular service called Pretendo leading the way. And while the unauthorized service has been humming along just fine over the past few months without incident, Nintendo randomly issued a statement this week asking players to "refrain" from using unofficial services that allow them to continue playing Wii U titles online. This is definitely a strange time to make this announcement, but perhaps since all eyes are on Nintendo for another reason, perhaps they wanted to capitalize on all the extra attention. Have you used "unauthorized" services like Pretendo to play retro games before?
What social media apps do you use?
The social media landscape is changing. With TikTok about to sunset, Meta working to change what can be posted on Instagram and Facebook, and X, Threads, and Bluesky seemingly locked in a three-way battle for text-based posting, it is a strange time for folks trying to connect across platforms. Even work-focused platform LinkedIn has made substantial changes over the last year, adding puzzles and short-form videos to its app. With this in mind, we have to wonder, what social media apps do you use the most? Previously I mostly used TikTok, Instagram and X all pretty evenly, but I can feel my habits changing as TikTok nears its end and I work to try and scroll less in 2025. Sound off about which social media apps you're still using in 2025 below!
